Ok so I have a buddy coming in to town this weekend and wants to brew. I'm a little strapped for cash due to my lager I just made last weekend. I want to do an ale as the fridge is pretty full at the moment.

I was looking into a APA, but it must be said that I am by no means a hop head bitter lover. I don;t mind the flavor as much as the bitter. I am looking for something cheap & easy with a quick turnaround. Malty and biscuit notes are preferred with a good balance of American hops. Kind of a English mild with a bright American hop background. Here is what I have so far...

7# 2-row (would rather use MO but its 50c more at the LHBS)
1# Crystal 60L
12oz Victory

Muntons Gold Dry (Dry for $savings other options are s-03, s-05, notting)

I am not sure what hops to go with here, Was thinking of Saaz but will that get me the IBUs I need. I'm kind of looking for a Bud American Ale but with more malty character like a Newcastle. I may be asking for something un do-able but I would def appreciate any help anyone could offer.

Thanks in advance :mug:
