I purchased a kit with my equipment but once I get it out of primary I'd like to have another one to start. I think I'd like to purchase two more kits to hone my skills before I venture out into special stuff or custom.

I think I need to stick to ale at this point. Anyone got any suggestions please let me know. :rockin:

On Austin Home Brewer's website they sell individual fermenters and carboys. I'm saving up so I can get 2-3 more fermenters to get my pipeline rolling.

I spoken to some people that tell me you can get food grade buckets for half the price if you go straight to a distributor. Though, I'm not sure if there is a difference in the quality.

kits by Brewer's Best are usually tastey and easy to make. they have hop pellets and un-hopped extract (so, full hour boils).

check out the kits at homebewers.com as well, I have made a bunch of theirs and have been happy with the results.

-=Edit=-
I think I have recommended homebrewers.com so many times they should consider giving me some of thier advertising budget. So if anyone that works there reads this post, PM me and I will give the address to send the check to.:mug:

My LHBS has great extract kits, most include steeping grains too which is cool and adds to the complexity. They have a broad selection of kits and always have fresh ingredients: Extract Recipe Kits

They also run monthly specials on their extract kits, list on special rotates every month: Alternative Beverage Specials

Take a look at this kit, it's the one I am going to buy here in the next couple weeks and it comes everything you need including the recipe to make your initial batch (you get a choice of several recipes) all for UNDER $60 + shipping to you.

It comes with all this:

* 6 Gallon Plastic Fermenter. Comes with a drilled and grommeted snap on lid for use with any fermentation lock. Our fermenter also comes with a drum tap that doesn't leak like other spigots.
* 5 Gallon Bottling Bucket. Used to hold fermented beer to make it easy to put into bottles. Comes with bottling spigot.
* Fermentation Lock. To lock out outside air and bacteria during fermentation.
* Transfer Tubing. Used to bottle and to transfer beer.
* Bottle Filler. A flow regulator to make bottling easier.
* Black Beauty Capper and Bottle Caps. This capper is a sturdy model that will endure a lot of use. More durable than metal Jet cappers.
* Bottle Brush. For cleaning inside bottles.
* Hydrometer. For testing alcohol content in your beer.
* one of the following BrewMaster beer kits-

Old World Pilsner 10,000 Lakes Light Lager
Walleye Weizen Gopher Pale Ale
Black Bear Brown Ale Lake Pepin Porter
Red Cedar Ale German Dark Lager

hey brewagent,
I am making my first kit bought from Morebeer.com (best bitter). From everything i have seen there kits look good. they have a ton to choose from and many complete kits for under $24. the best part is shipping is free with a purchase over $59 (if your in the lower 48/sucks for me). Just another place you might want to look.

Thanks for all the great information....Right now I have my first setup of equipment (kit from midwest supplies) I have my first beer recipe kit of irsh stout from midwest as well....

I'm really looking to get my pipeline going and hone my skills so I wan to get some beer recipe kits to start brewing.

Once I have the process down I want to go to All-Grain & start on my own recipe and my favorite clones........ (Which will cost more) I just don't want to waste money till I got the process down.

Hope that makes sense
