I am looking for a Dark Cream Ale recipe. I am not certain how to get the color without the bitter of dark malts. As the weather is starting to move towards fall I am looking to make a dark ale, but I am really wanting the flavors and body of a cream ale. I have had my eye on the Amarillo Cream Ale, but I was thinking of getting it darker to throw everyone off the trail.. ;)

Anyone have any idea's?
Amarillo Cream Ale Grain Bill
7 lbs Pale Malt(2-row)
1.25 lbs Flaked Corn (Maize)
.25 lbs Munich Malt
.5 lbs Vienna Malt
0.5 lbs Crystal 20L

Look for Sinamar. It's a liquid additive made from malt used to darken beer w/o adding roasted flavor.

You could also add some black patent - in very small amounts, you won't taste it and it doesn't take much to darken a beer a good amount. If you want some actual dark malt character (without any bitterness) you could try carafa.
 
there is a caraffa debittered grain, also if you dont want to spend more, grab some black patent, dont mill, and throw it in the mash, you would get a black color with out the flavor
