you'll probably get more and better advise going to the beginners forum

Post what kind of brewing you want to do ie, Extract, or All grain, Partial mash

Hey Wes!
Totally, i actually live right down the street from AHS and they are some of the most helpful friendly people i've ever met.

Dive right in, you'll be amazed how much fun and relaxing this hobby is!

Hey Wes,
I'm in Austin too and I use AustinHOmebrew for a pretty good portion of my purchases when the price is right. Most of the staff there are very helpful and knowledgeable and can be of great help for any # of questions. JJasghar is right on about the guys that work there but if they're really busy they might seem to rush you a little but just explain to them you're just getting started and they'll be pretty patient.

BTW, Austin Home Brew has brewing demonstrations on Tuesdays at Noon.

Can't think of a better way to spend lunch.

You might want to consider going to the brewshop near by to get to know the shop and not have to pay for shipping (which isn't that big of a deal with austinhomebrew..) I'm not sure if there are any in galveston but I know there are a couple in houston

take it easy!

AgentWG, you should check out Defalco's in Houston. There not too far from you and have a good brew club. The store has just about everything you might need and they are great folks to deal with. We live up in Diboll about 120 miles north of Houston but we still take time to drive down to see those guys on occassion. When we started they got us going on the right path and with everything we needed to make it work great. They have a web site but there is nothing like talking to folks in person. Here is the web site www.defalcos.com. Good luck and have fun.:mug:
