This is going to be our first AG brew and here is the recipe:

Amount Item Type % or IBU
9 lbs 8.0 oz Pale Malt (2 Row) CA (2.0 SRM) Grain 83.77 %
1 lbs 8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM) Grain 13.23 %
4.0 oz Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM) Grain 2.20 %
0.50 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (60 min) Hops 20.9 IBU
1.4 oz Maple Syrup (35.0 SRM) Sugar 0.79 %
1 Pkgs California Ale (White Labs #WLP001) Yeast-Ale

It is a 60 minute boil, but I wanted to make sure we put the syrup in at the right time. Would this go in with the hops for the full 60? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

I've only done sugar additions for belgian ales a few times, in that case the sugar is added just at the end of the boil or even in the primary. I would add it in the last few minutes of the boil in this case.

I appreciate it. I was thinking that would be the case, but wasn't exactly sure. Thinking like the last 5 minutes or so?
