I did my best to search the forum before asking so i apologize if this has been discussed previously.
Im thinking about going to a single tier set up, but instead of having a direct fire mash tun, was thinking about keeping my 10 gallon cooler mash tun.
Anyone currently running this setup? any problems i should anticipate? I have a keggle i could convert to a MT if need be.
Thanks in advance for any info or pics you can share

If you double click on the link for "show us your sculpture or brew rig" there are around 360 pages of pictures of every conceivable variation of stand. I guarantee you will see tons of examples of exactly what you are proposing. In fact, the first picture on the first page is exactly that. I use a cooler for mashing when brewing inside the house but I use a propane fired keggle built mash tun on the Brutus when brewing outside. What you are proposing will work just fine.

I ran a igloo cube mash tun for a couple years on a single tier system. Worked great.

I just recently converted to a keg with another burner mash tun for more mash temp control. The cooler worked great very little if any temp loss.
