I created a clone recipe of Liberty Brewing's (NZ) Yakima Monster APA.
It has turned out pretty much spot on, I even did a side by side comparison :mug:

What was the batch size? Did you add your steep/whirlpool addition at flameout and how long did you steep for? What was your fermentation schedule? Did you keg or bottle and what volume of CO2?

:mug:

Sorry was in a bit of a rush to post!

The whirlpool hops were added after flame out, I cooled the wort to around 75C then added these so not to get any more bitterness from them. I whirlpooled for approx 20mins while the wort chiller cooled everything.

Fermented at 18C for 5days, then increased temp by 1degree every 24hrs until it was at 22 degrees. I added dry hops at day 7 and left for 5days.
On day 13 Crash chilled to 2degrees for 48hrs then kegged.

I out in 2.5volumes of CO2 and let condition for a week.

I'll post up the full recipe on beersmith cloud at dome stage too.

Ah also this was a 23L batch - boil in a bag. Mash temp 66C for 60mins with a mash out of 75C (15min rise)

Thanks! One last question - are the Amarillo & Amarillo Gold different hops? I've used Amarillo before but I've never heard of Amarillo Gold.

Same thing bro, the beersmith software calls it Amarillo Gold for some reason. If you give it a brew let me know what you think!

Thanks! I think this is going to be one of my first brews with 2015 hops. I order my hops from Yakima, WA (70% of the hops in the United States come from around here) and they will have this years batch ready in October. Simcoe & Amarillo are two of my favorite hops so I can't wait to get this going :mug:
