I have a store bought false bottom (11" ss sankey) with a bent ss tube that connects to my weldless bulkhead.. it looks and works great. my only question is how do you get the remaining 1-2" of wort off the bottom once the head pressure is gone out of the mash (sparging) and into the boil.. i was planning on getting most of the grain out and just straining it into the boil. any ideas.. any of you with the same problem?
im sure you look marvelous!?!?!?!
thanks guys

You need to put a pick up tube under the false bottom that reaches further down in to the MT. The closer you can get it to the bottom of the tun the more you are going to be able ot pick up. Also make sure that the pick up is sealed up well, so you don't loose the siphon created and it should pick up everything.

Cheers
