Ran into a situation where I'm laggering in my kegerator and I need to increase temperature for diacetyl rest but I wentered through more beer then expected and want to tap an ale. Anyone let the lager warm up in a swamp cooler and hold for diacetyl rest

Why not do the D-rest at ambient room temps 60-75F? I don't think the temp is critical as long as it is above 60F.

Now the D-rest should be done right after fermentation is done, but before the long lagering period.

Cool, gonna put the lager in the swamp cooler tomorrow and tap the ale. I'm assuming if letting the temperature fluctuate as it heats up means that I shouldn't even bother lowering the temperature slowly when it's time to lager? Normally I raise the temperature 1 degree a day up front and drop it 5 degrees a day to lager.
