So I been playing with a few ideas for a "Chocolate Milk Stout" and I have pretty much nailed my recipe down and hopefully will start brewing this weekend. My only real problem/question is...
When should I add the Lactose into the boil???
I have seen some recipes in which it was put in at 60 minutes while some of them have it at 15 minutes. I plan on doing a 90 minute boil just because my partial mash recipe is based off of 6.5 gallons, in which after the 90 minute boil I will have a lil over 5 gallons to put into primary. (Also, I am using 1lb of Lactose, just because I like it a lil more sweet).
If anyone has any experience or thoughts, feel free to comment.
