I know what lacing is, but what does it tell you about a beer and what makes it? I did a quick search but didn't see anything. What type of lacing should you aim for in stouts, porters, ipa's? Does it have a lot to do with how much you prime and condition your home brew?

As I understand it, lacing is related to how hop oils interact with proteins in the beer. Originally, it was more a byproduct of certain styles and recipes than something intentionally crafted.

Probably means you have a clean glass. :D
