Kombucha taste

I recently tried some delicious kombucha and I'd love to get my homebrew to taste similar. It had a strong yeasty flavor, reminiscent of beer, with very little sweetness but not very sour at all. My homebrew tastes good but it is more like sweet tea with vinegar and doesn't have that yeasty flavor at all.

Does this mean my culture has been compromised and should I start over? Or is there something I can do to change the flavor?

read up on what produces yeast in kombucha. I think it might be a warmer temp.
