For the past 10 years I have had the same converted kettle configuration.
Weldless fittings, internal copper fittings to move the output down and to the side of the kettle. On the end of this was a standard bazooka screen.
I used this configuration with pellet and leaf hops with a immersion chiller.
When I upgraded to a plate chiller I could only use whole leaf hops
On rare occasions when I had to use a limited quanity of pellet hops the bag worked ok.
Two friends are converting some Sanke kegs, is there an updated preference for the internal dip tube/screen?
Anything that allows pellet hops and a plate chiller?
