What's the difference between ball lock and pin lock and which one is best? Thanks
Whutever said:A slight overall variation in the shape of the keg (I think) and the post connections on top. IMHO neither is better but ball lock does seem to be the more popular homebrew keg of choice.

Pin lock has pins that connect with a push/turn of the connector and ball lock has ball bearings that retract with a spring loaded ferrule. One is not superior to the other but the big difference is availability of parts. You will have an easier time using ball lock as the vast majority of kegs out there are ball lock and you can easily find replacement parts for them.
