Hey everyone,
I am just starting my kegorator project and I have many questions! And I am sure the deeper in to my project I get, the more questions I will eventually have. I know there are other threads out there, but I haven't found the answer I am looking for. Right now I am in the process of buying everything. My question now is, How can I hook up multiple kegs with different pressures to one co2 tank? I want to have 2-1/6th barrel kegs (at one pressure) and one, maybe eventually two corny kegs (at a different pressure). Right now i have most of the lines and faucets. I don't yet have any regulators, air manifolds, or splitters due to the fact that im struggling on how to do all this.

So how should I set this up? What kind of regulator? How many secondary regulators? What kind of splitters? Do I need air manifolds? As you can tell I am new at this, but I am dreaming big :rockin:
I am on a budget and I know the easiest way to do it is just to buy a four way secondary air regulator, but at $190 it would take a big chunk out of my budget. If anyone has pic to, that would be great. THANKS ALOT!!

Here's a thought.. Harbor Fright sells low pressure regulators (airtools section) for about $7. They are are 1/4" thread. You could buy 3 or 4 of them and make yourself a manifold with some T's and the such from the hardware store. Then set your regulator on your Co2 bottle to say 50 psi and dial in each line to whatever you want to..

This may be another dumb question, but lets say I buy a single co2 regulator and then I buy a co2 2 port air manifold or a splitter to split it to go to two different kegs. If I want the pressure to be at 10 psi, do I set the pressure at 10 psi still even though im splitting the air between two kegs?

Without some sort of additional regulation, splitting the lines into two lines the pressure will be the same on both lines.

Tylo, if you already have a single guage regulator then go this route and use this manifold to split the lines to make four. If not, then go this route and the same manifold to make four. I linked MoreBeer only as a reference. Also keep an eye on eBay, Craigs List and the Classified forum here on HBT.

If you go with the first suggestion then turn the single guage up all the way and control the PSI with the secondary reg.

Ok awesome. I think Im going to go the second route as I have not yet purchased my regulator/s. Thanks for all the help. Anyone have any recommendations on a chest freezer for this kind of set up? I originally wanted the magic chef 7.2 as I read in another thread it can hold all the kegs I plan on having, but I am having no luck finding it anywhere. I live in an apartment where space is limited so, cant go to big.

Watch Craigslist. I picked up one maybe 3 mo old for around $100.

Lowes and Home Depot both carry 7.2 cuft freezers, take cardboard cutouts of the keg diameters and test them out.

Do you think a 7.2 will easily fit 2- 1/6th kegs a corny and a 5lb co2 tank? Thats the set up im going for. Eye balling one on craigslist right now priced at $120

You're also going to need an external temp controller to prevent the freezing of the beer. FYI: Analog controllers will be cheaper than digital ones. Again, keep and eye on eBay, Craigs List and the classified forum. However, seems like there's a thread on here somewhere for building your own. Lemme look for it and get back to you.

As for your question, check out this Sticky from the kegging forum as it'll help you with your decision making. Also, I've got a 1/6bbl and corney so if you want, pm me and we can meet up this weekend and I'll make you cutouts of each so you can take them with you to measure (like Ed did in the sticky).

Yeah I have been researching on all of this for a good month or so now. So I have read that forum many times. Its just hard to tell- because most people use cornies so I am unsure on how many actual 1/6th kegs it is able to hold. As for meeting this weekend- my goal this weekend is to get my freezer chest. And I know I need to get a temp controller. I want to install one of the love controllers - I have read horror storys about installing them, but overall I like the look of a digital one, So I am going to give it a try and hope I don't mess it up. Im a little nervous doing it, but as soon as I get the chest freezer, build a collar, I am going to go for it.
