Hi all UK brewers,

I want to build a 2 tier keggle brewing system. I'm having difficulty trying to source kegs. Does anyone have experience or advice on this matter?

I've been to a couple of distributors and both have said that neither pass on nor sell old kegs (even dented kegs get returned to either brewery or on to accredited scrap yards)

Any other help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

kegs can be hard to find cheep outside the US mainly because you dont have stupid frat kids that get kegs for house parties and dont return them.
but i think you kind of already answered your question; the scrap yard. just start hitting them all up and see if they do pick and pull i'm sure you will eventually find something that will work. also think outside the box, there is a UK build on here using and old SS water heater tank. Also go look for used restaurant equipment suppliers giant coffee makers and soup warmers are a place to start.
kegs are used a lot mainly because breweries have access to them in numbers so it makes sense to use them for their pilot systems but they are not the end all. Dont be discouraged either, sourcing cheep parts takes a lot of time so make sure you know what you need because the longer you are looking for them the more likely you are going to find a deal.
