Question. I just did a clean/test run on my new keggle. Why am I not getting all the water to drain out. I have a dip tube but its not on center, with the bulkhead and adapter to connect the diptube its roughly 2 inches off center. Even with it being off center the water quits draining with about 2 inches of the bent part of diptube still under water. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you have air getting in and breaking your siphon. Id try tightening your compression fitting and or bulkhead a bit.

Sounds like your not creating a full siphon. Make sure you have drain hose lower than the keggle, open the valve full open and make sure there is no air in the drain hose.....you should get a full siphon that way. Also make sure that you don't have any leaks in your piping.

Ok thanks ill be working on it later tonight to try and tighten the compression fitting tighter. What are thoughts on using hpw ever you spell tephlone tape on the inside to help?

I do have a hose. I have a 3 piece valve with a 1/2 barb and a 6 ft hose. I will attempt again after i tighten the connections and see what i get. Planning on doing my first BIAB next weekend with just simple 21 lbs of 2 row for a blonde ale. Getting the kinks out before i start.

Did second wet run after tightening the dip tube still doesnt draw all water out, left about the same. Only difference was the bulkhead could have been loose and my keggle not level. Would it being on a level surface matter? Also when tipped after it stopped it began to drain.

And the output tubing was connected with the open end dropped lower than the bottom of the keg? Does the compression fitting have metal ferrules? If so, did you set the ferrules by cranking the nut as tight as you could with a big wrench?

No on tube which ill do tonight, and yes on metal ferrules. I heard a snap then i dod thought i broke it. I loosened, checked, noticed it was fine and cranked on it again. The only think im thinking that could be loose is the 1/2 in coupler attached to bulkhead might not be as tight, i just hand tightened.

Success! Had only 3 cups of water left over. Tightened everything down, had tube lower, everything level and it sucked everything out except tje 3 cups. Thanks bobby fyi ill be getting the rest of my hardware from you!
