I'm fairly new to kegging and I'd like to bring a keg of my homebrew to a party next weekend. I have a 4 gallon sanke keg (i pull out the stem, fill, replace the stem). I'd like to carb the beer with my CO2 tank, then swtich to a hand pump to take it to the party (less to bring). How would I go about carbing the beer? Am i better off not force carbing and just add sugar to the keg? The party is in 7 days. Thank you!

Carb like normal, I usually do 30psi for a day and then dial back to serving pressure for a couple more days.

Thanks! So I'll carb up like normal and leave it dialed back the rest of the week. I'll take it off carb the morning of the party and bring the hand pump and keg with me (this is so i dont have to bring the tank & everything else) and tap it at the party. Is that how I should do it?

Just be sure to finish the keg, the beer will be oxidized so won't last long after the handpump is used.

I found a cheap regulator, paintball tank, and adapter, works great when I need portable beer.
