I cleaned my keggerator out last week... and i look in it friday, and the temp probe is green fully covered in green! wtf! corrosion (oxidation?) is this an issue? or just messy? also, i noticed the (clean) kegs i put in on friday now have this black good on them :( again, wtf!

any ideas?

ill plan on adding a pic son

Looks like you have a LOT of condensation in there, which there shouldn't be. If everything is sealed up well, the only condensation should be on the outside. People often use DampRid to keep things extra dry, but from your pic I don't think it would help much. Try to look for a bad seal on the lid, that would be a good place to start.

Cheers!

dang that looks nasty. Is this a freezer converted? perhaps the cleaner had some caustic effect on the copper probe wire. you've got tons of condensation. you must have humid air leaking into the cooler.

This is a major advantage of using a frost free refrigerator as a keggerator. A good fridge will never have excess condensation.

Yep. You have a condensation problem. DampRid is a Calcium Chloride dessicant and is effective but, there are otherways too.

The green is oxidized copper. Verdigris. The other stuff looks like a reaction from the bleach.

what did you use to clean with????

i would blame it on the bleach. it corrodes metal even stainless steel.

I have heard that long term contact with bleach can really F up some stainless. Results in pitting the metal.
