I have never tried it, but I'm pretty sure it is just an undersink drinking water filter. Probably get all the parts at Lowes for a lot less than what they want.

just bought filters and housings from fastfilter.com. Looks just like the filter that northern brewer sells...
I looked at this in the past and another surface (potential infection) that my precious beer touches scared me off. I have gone the route of Irish moss/worfloc tablets, cold crashing and gelatin. Though I don't have a picture handy, after the first pull my lighter beers have turned out very clear.
