OK, so I just got a kegerator and will be ready to keg a batch of west coast IPA in about 2 weeks. I'm use to bottle conditioning my beer for about 2-4 weeks after I bottle it. Obviously, part of that time was needed to carbonate the beer. But, since I will be using CO2 to carbonate instead of yeast, is it still necessary to condition the beer for some period of time after it is carbonated?

Sometimes yes. Sometimes no.

Depends on the type and style of the beer and a variety of factors prior to the beer going in the keg.
 
And what would those factors be?

Anything that can have an impact on the formation of undesirable flavor compounds in the beer.

Lots of things related to your process in play but fermentation profile and control of same are the chief players.

Some unwanted compounds if present may reduce over time. Certain unwanted compounds reduce faster at warmer storage temperatures some better at colder temperatures.

Some unwanted compounds will not age out.
