I just bought one, and will be using it next weekend. Taking a keg on an houseboat trip. The LHBS where I got it said it takes about 2.75 of the 16 oz cartridges to serve 5 gals.

Will try and remember to give you some direct feedback a week from Tuesday if you can wait that long.

I have one and it's great! Perfect for taking a keg camping, etc.. Look for refills on amazon, I buy them 12 at a time here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001N0TVC4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
I also stick a short length of tubing onto the end of it so i can quickly purge secondary containers before racking. Just make sure you don't pull the trigger with the ball lock disconnect on there when it's not connected to the keg, it has no type of regulator, so supposedly it can blow the disconnect apart if its not connected to a keg.

Usually takes 2-3 cylinders per 5 gallon cornie keg..

Worked great. Didn't have any issues, only ended up drinking about 1/2 that keg, so don't know how many cartridges it would take to dispense an entire keg. We didn't quite use a full cartridge for an ESB, which was lightly carbed to begin with.

Hope this helps.
