I'm about to build myself a keezer but need to place in my outbuilding. (Lack of room) If stored in the outbuilding will it keep the beer from freezing or will I have to install some type of heat inside the keezer. Thanks in advance
If temps drop below freezing for extended times it will freeze inside the keezer too. Insulation isn't perfect. I'd say the lid is the largest energy drain.
So a small 25-100W heater inside the keezer on a temp controller's heating channel will help prevent the content from freezing.
My fermentation chamber has a dual temperature controller. One side is programmed for heating the other for cooling. I have a brew belt plugged into the heating side and the chest freezer itself plugged into the cooling side. Keeps the temp controlled environment limited to the volume of the chest freezer. No reason you couldn't do the same thing with a keezer.
