Here is my build as ot sits right now. I have never built anything from wood so this was a first. I'm happy for the most part when I liquid nailed the top down it is a half inch off on one side. Any tips on squaring it up? Waiting for the guts to come in to drill hole to mount tower. Thanks for all the great content to allow me to give this a go!!!

How is it "off 1/2" on one side? If its off 1/2" on one side , would it not be 1/2" off on the other as well? Is it not set square to the cabinet or just one side is hanging over 1/2" more than the other?
any tips on squaring it up...yes, take the top off and do it (align)right . You could also measure or put a 3/4"(1x)block under it that once scribed and cut ,will square it to the cabinet...providing the cabinet itself is in fact square.
I've been a carpenter for over 26 yrs. Dad was a carpenter ,so I've been working wood since I was old enough to hold a hammer and use power tools...so, realistically like 45 yrs total.
You'd have been better off attaching the top to the cabinet from inside with use of dowels, corner bracing screw blocks or corner irons, even a finish nail , not liquid nails.
