Hey guys, here is a picture of my keezer. Does anyone have any advice? I have a Johnson controller, dehumidifier, and i ran the probe into a bottle of water to simulate the temp of the beer. I still want to add a collar and some taps. You may be able to see in the pics that i still get small beads of water on the sides even though i have a dehumidifier. Not sure if this will become a problem or not but there is no water in the bottom just some beads on the walls.

The problem is that every time the lid is opened, a little moisture gets in. Since you don't have much humidity getting in now, you should have no problem once you add taps and stop opening the lid.

You're going to get moisture. There's no way to completely eliminate it. The Eva-Dry will help a little, so keep that in there. If you get excessive moisture you probably have a leaky seal somewhere.

I had my keezer in my garage and had major moisture problems. Once I brought it indoors it eliminated most of it. Stable temperatures and low humidity are a good things.

Where do you recommend i run the chord?

Anyway that allows the lid to seal. You could keep it right where it is and use two thin triangular pieces of weather stripping to allow the lid to seal, or some freezers have a drain you could run it through and then seal it with silicone, or you could notch the existing seal and cover it with silicone, or if you plan on having regular faucets and a collar someday you could go ahead and make the collar now and run it through the collar, etc.

Thanks dude! I think i will run it through the drain in the bottom and seal it off that way...i do plan on building the collar but i was going to try and wait until i run out of beer so i can make sure i get a good seal. Not sure how the cold would affect the sealant.

One more question. How do you guys feel about running a tower out the top vs taps on the side?

I made a copper pass-through tower for the top of my keezer. I love having it on top rather than just faucets through the collar, but if I had it to do over I'd probably go with a coffin box instead. Easier to keep cold, and much less of a PITA to install and remove the shanks, tailpieces, etc.

I've never owned a tower, but if it's a freezer with a lid, just make sure you have an easy way to pull it out from the wall if the tower will need clearance when you get inside.

That would seem like common sense but i didnt even think of that lol
