I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio Area and I just started brewing this past weekend. I started with an Oatmeal Stout on Saturday and it is in the primary and yesterday I did a porter. I realize that this is probably a bit too much since I just started, but I have a tendency to go into things head first. If I am lucky, they both will be ready and at least drinkable if they are not good by the time my wedding comes around next month

Welcome from a fellow new member!

I think the tougher recipes are a great way to learn if thats your style, stick with it!

My wife tells me im always "going into things head first"....Ill let you do with that what you will...:p

I started out with a premade kit, so it wasnt terribly hard to do, just time consuming since i have no clue what i am doing. but i figured i can get some "leeway" with screwing up starting with a stout/porter since they have so much flavor going on. My thought is if i screw them up somehow, it would be masked by something else, but i guess i will find out.

So your post says youre on batch # 6, what all have you conquered thus far?
