So I'm one of those people who gets very excited about something and then quickly loses interest. Around 3 1/2 years ago, I decided that brewing sounded like fun when a few of my friends bought starter brew kits. I purchased a kit and a brewers best american pilsner ingredient kit. I got home, was ready to brew, then started reading about the process. I panicked thinking about sanitization, cleaning, bottling - well, the entire process. The kit ended up in my attic...

Fast-forward to about a month ago. I was cleaning up around the house when the wife told me I needed to throw away my unused stuff. I came across my brew kit and she told me it was a prime candidate for the dump. Oddly, this was the motivation I needed. It also helped that one of my good friends was currently getting active with brewing and my brother-in-law wanted to join the party. I trashed the foul smelling 3 year old ingredients from the brewers best kit and took a trip to my local homebrew shop.

On Friday March 2nd, 2012, I grew a love for a hobby that I wouldn't have expected. My first batch, an American Nut Brown Ale, is sitting in the fermenter at 66 degrees and bubbling along. Now the hard part is waiting, but I'm already looking for new recipes for my second batch. I knew once I did it, I'd be hooked, and now that I got past the first brew, I had even more fun than I expected.

So thanks for reading my novel. I'm glad to be here!
