Issue with filtering my beer

I'm having a problem filtering my beer where the beer is not being pushed out of the first keg to go through the filter and into the serving keg. I ran a few gallons of starsan through the setup without an issue, leaving the filter out of the filter housing. I soaked the filter in starsan for five minutes while this was taking place. I racked the beer into the first keg and put the setup back together and the beer is not coming out. Keep in mind when I racked to the keg I put a hop bag over the racking cane so no debris got into the keg so it's not being blocked. The PSI was set around 5 and it's just not moving at all. I even tried bumping up the PSI to 12 with no change. What else can I try so I can get back to filtering?

This is the setup I'm using: http://morebeer.com/view_product/16769//Beer_and_Wine_Filtering_Kit

Thanks all!

Ryan

May be obvious, but are you sure you have liquid out connected to the filter? Is the CO2 connected to the presently full keg? Does CO2 come out when you pull the pressure relief valve of the keg? Did you take the plastic wrapping off the filter?

I've definitely overlooked more obvious things in my setup but I did have the filter setup attached to both liquid-out posts. The CO2 was connected to the right keg and when I purged the keg it was definitely getting the CO2 in there. The plastic wrap was also off the filter.

Turn off the gas and purge the pressure. Then, leaving everything connected, just remove the filter from the housing and reconnect the housing. Turn the gas back on. Does it flow? If not, the problem is likely with the full keg or the connection. IF it does flow, the problem is the filter.

Thanks BigB I'll give that a shot. If it is the keg what do you think it could be if I ran starsan through the setup without an issue?

My guess would be that somehow the pickup tube was plugged, or the poppett isn't opening (broken ball lock connector or the connector isn't seating all of the way. Because if gas is going in, then it can't be that side.

Ok I'll look at the setup. You're probably right about the dip tube being plugged up but I'll know for sure tonight when I do some trial and error solutions.

Thanks again!

Hook everything up and hold the RED button down until the filter fills with beer. That should take care of the problem.

I like to invert the filter when I'm getting near the end of the keg. The outlet is in the top, so that's the only way to get all of the beer out. If you leave the filter upright, when the keg is empty, the CO2 just blows from the inlet through the top of the cartridge and into the outlet.
