Is this not the most ridiculous song? Look at the lyrics

Here's one that really gets me po'd, the whole "jimmy dean" part; what the hell does jimmy dean have to do with anything? He's talking about a girl, then he just says "Jimmy dean, james dean." I know who james dean is, but i don't see his relevance to anything. So read up, and i'll wait for people to attack me about this one as well. yes, ik songs don't have to make sense, but do they have to be terrible as well?

Blue Jean Baby Queen

Hey kid, rock and roll
Rock on, ooh, my soul
Hey kid, boogey too, did ya

Hey shout, summertime blues
Jump up and down in my blue suede shoes
Hey kid, rock and roll, rock on

And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean

ow, if you want to talk about stupid lyrics, I suggest you go no further than, "Do do do do, do da da da, is all I want to say to you...."

In fact, they're very good lyrics. Sitng's own defense:

"'De Do Do Do', for example, was grossly misunderstood: the lyrics are about banality, about the abuse of words. Almost everyone who reviewed it said, Oh, this is baby talk. They were just listening to the chorus alone, obviously."

Obviously.

i agree. i like that song and it actually makes sense to me

is no one going to address this "Jimmy Dean" issue, i brought up? No one else is bothered by that song?

I'm guessing it's just that James Dean is an icon of cool. The song isn't just about a girl, it refers to rock and roll, Summertime Blues, blue suede shoes, hot babes in blue jeans. It's a tribute to old school cool, which Jimmy Dean was once the king of.

At the Filmore... Had to post.
