There is a video doing the rounds on YouTube that has racked up around 230,000 views in just three months. It features a female TV presenter taking her male co-host’s index finger deep in her mouth (right down to the hilt), circulating and teasing its pink tip with her wet tongue and then running her lips sideways along its modest girth. She giggles coyly as she simulates masturbating his finger one minute, looking flushed and turned on the next – eyes closed, focused on the job at hand.
The video itself is a fairly innocent snippet from a Now TV show called The Adult Forum. As a guest on the chat show six months ago, Vienna Lin’s uninhibited attitude towards discussing sex earned her a job as a full-time presenter. And while some might find the whole affair a tad exasperating – especially after watching her instruct her co-presenters in the fine art of the fake orgasm – she is, in reality, extremely soft and well-mannered.
“Most guests or presenters talk and behave more outwardly than I do on screen. But once the camera starts rolling, they shut up. I say what I mean both on and off screen. But I put on my TV persona which is a little more dramatic. It’s a TV show, you need to be entertaining,” says Lin. While her television persona is all bare skin, cleavage and come-hither looks, today she is wearing a grey knee-length hoodie, a pair of
black over-the-knee socks and a pair of boots. She is just like any girl you’d bump into on a busy Hong Kong street.
And for a 27-year-old whose job is to candidly talk about sex and its myriad adventures, her own sexual history sounds rather, well, normal. She lost her virginity when she was 16, has had 11 partners in total (including her current 29-year-old designer boyfriend with whom she is trying to conceive), and has slept with men from Hong Kong, Singapore, England and Australia. “For the first ten guys I slept with, none of them could last longer than 20 minutes,” says Lin as if we are discussing the price of a cucumber, “they just barged in and within two strokes they flopped. It’s really important to keep a girl excited. If she is, she’ll do anything you ask of her.” She continues: “I had anal sex before but you need lots of lubricant to make the experience remotely enjoyable. I also had sex once in an alleyway on The Peak around the pavilion near the tram terminus. You get the thrill from doing it outdoors but it wasn’t a comfortable experience.”
Although Lin looks vastly different in real life without the make-up, she does get recognised in the street. Funnily enough, those who ask for autographs aren’t the pervy Apliu Street type men you’d expect, but secondary school girls. “Their parents don’t discuss sex openly and the girls see me as a big sister who speaks her mind. There was a girl who wrote to me saying, ‘Giving a ******** makes me want to puke’. I told her, ‘If it stinks, then don’t’. But there are also hostile fan mails that ask me ‘How much for a shag?’ Just because I talk about sex doesn’t mean I’m a Pretty Woman or I’ll be a porn star. I will do neither.”
The Adult Forum airs on the Now TV Adult Channel every Monday at 10pm.
