First time brewing All-Grain and something weird is happening. I'm using a plastic conical fermenter and making a typical beer, OG: 1.059.
It looks like there are 3 or 4 layers inside the fermenter. It appears that there might be a layer of settled grain particles, then an inch of liquid wort, then another large layer of grain particles. In general, the wort appears to have a larger than normal amount of grain husk and other particulates in it.
The yeast trap below also a layer of grain and a layer of beer, possibly indicating the valve between the fermenter and yeast trap is clogged.
Is this something to worry about? It's the second time this has happened, but was more distinct in the partial mash stout I brewed last week.
