Look like it would work well. It's just analog as apposed to the more expensive digital ones. Depends on what kind of accuracy and how much fine control you want. It's easier to select a paritcular temp when using buttons selecting one degree change at a time then turning an analog pot trying to pinpoint within 1 degree.
 
Looks like a good deal. It appears to be an older model, but a google search revealed that others were using it for keezers and fermentation fridges around 1994. I'd say go for it.
 
Still sold my quite a few online HBS. So I guess not too bad of a deal at all!
 
I don't notice a 110 cord or recepticle on this model. Does this mean it has to be hardwired? In other words, do you need to wire it to replace the existing thermostat in the freezer?
