Is this a good deal for 1/2 kegs?

I'd like to convert at least one of these to a brew kettle and eventually build a three tier sculpture...assuming I find a good deal on 3 kegs

If you can get past the fact they aren't actually his to sell, (They actually belong to the brewery not the store), then yes.
