Is my hydrometer buggered?

Hi all, new to brewing and wondering if my hydrometer is still all good or if I should get a new one for accurate readings.

My immediate reaction was yes it is buggered, but after thinking about it, I think it would still work. You could test it with distilled water and then add a known amount of sugar to see if it is accurate.

Mine looks a bit wonky at the bottom as well, but it still measures fine. As long as the correct amount of material (whatever it is in there) is still there, I wouldn't think it would skew your readings.

As AZ said, check it in distilled water and a known amount of sugar. If it reads 1.000 in the water and higher in the sugar, you're good.
