Deeeewwwwwd, where was my invite? Can I time travel?

danyP can you tell us more about the Fantome and Jester King collaboration beer?

well, like others small brew's in Belgium we have had visit from jester band .. and so they are coming with some elements they are using in their recept .. we where doing a mix with mine .. and my barley grains and another one, and the classic hop i regulary be taken .. ( UK from).. etc etc .. so this is the result ... tell me your taste results ... ;-)

I have to wonder how long it will take my local shops to get through the "smoked" Saison bottles before we start getting the good stuff again.

Just landed here in Australia! Although... there was only like a case in the country anyway. I got the last one... and now I have 8 good bottles en route to my porch.

on vacation in florida - walked into a store that had artist and noel. i paused for a moment and contemplated buying several of each since it appeared as though they were there for awhile and were untouched. i reasoned with myself for a few minutes and decided to walk away empty handed.

drove a couple miles (3-4 tops?) and stopped at another bottle shop. went in and son of a bitch they had noel, artist and boo. i figured this was a sign that i needed to make a purchase. how can 2 bottle shops in the same town...nearly on the same road have essentially more total Fantome bottles than ive collectively seen in PA in the past 2-3 years? turns out the fellow working at that second shop has an account on this site! so unknowingly i feel like i subliminally made the right decision.

im in the minority here but of the 8 or so bottles of the original batch of Boo that i drank, i really enjoyed a couple of them and thought some were just OK while only 1 or 2 were meh. figuring these Boo bottles were a new batch, i snagged 2 and im having a really difficult time not popping one open before i even get home

also, ive not drank a noel in several years and even then it was the 07 or older bottling. i noticed the new noel has a best by date written on the side label...not the older style punch boxes that were or were not sometimes used. this was a positive discovery. anyone else notice this on other bottles?

yah, some or most of the new bottles have Lot numbers on them. Yep, you just saw more Fantome than we've had in Oregon in the last 5 years probably. Buy buy buy. I'd love to get a chance at more bottles of Artist, though I doubt we will see any on the west coast.

As to the Boo, there are at least 3 batches, the newest ones, and other new bottles, have a slightly different bottle shape so you can tell them apart.

Over the course of a year, I bought all the dusty Hivers and Noels from my local store when they ended up in the discount bin. They were the old paper labels well past the dates notched on the bottles. I drank a couple myself and sent a few on to good friends of mine. A month or so ago, the same store got a small batch of Printemps and Hiver (new label). Thoroughly enjoying this at the moment:

Funky, in the best way possible. Zero smoke or bandaid.

Thanks, danyP !

I wish we had these in MI. I'm over here furiously touching myself every time a pic is posted.

I feel kind of guilty that artist has been chillin on the shelf for a month now and I haven't bought more. If anyone one wants one hit me up in next ten min and hopefully I can snag one for ya

Aren't you in St Louis?

thanks to Treebs for splitting this one with me last weekend.

danyP back on track with this one - ******* on-point. crazy levels of sweaty-ass, cheesy jock strap funk with a pleasant underlying tartness, just the right kiss of acidity in the finish. lovely saison. bravo, danyP, bravo.

Can confirm smelled like a butt. Non-beer nerd girl across the room: "Does someone have really ****** weed?!"

I opened a great bottle of the regular saison the other night and real used it was my last one. Got a plan to stock up this week, should always have some fantom in the cellar.
