So recently I purchased a part to convert a regulator from accepting the normal CO2 tanks most homebrewers use to accepting small, more portable paintball tanks. The reason is purely for portability and the fact and will be purchasing a dual body regulator in the near future. My old dual gauge regulator was bought used and is very well stripped out where the conversion needs to be place but still works perfectly for my 20# tank. So it would seem that I need to buy a new less stripped regulator in order to convert it and I would have to resell my dual gauge one. The question is, how much do I need dual gauge when I am serving at most a single keg with a 12 oz paintball tank?

Not at all.

The high pressure gauge only tells how much is left in the tank.

FYI it takes about 50-55 grams of CO2 to push a 5g corny. Assuming the tank is under filled a little & no leaks, you should be able to push 5 or possibly 6 5g kegs per fill. Two 1/2 barrel Sanke kegs should get emptied but it will be close.

Thanks for the info. It is convenient because it should be cheaper then the non rechargeable co2 packs and a 12oz tank hardly has any weight.
