Thankfully I paid using paypal so if it is a total BS story and I don't see the faucet in a couple of weeks I'll just contact Paypal and suspend payment and request a full refund from Paypal. Same route if I actually do get it and it is one of the piece of crap versions he tried to sell a couple years back. We'll see...

I emailed them about a month ago when I noticed the had them listed for sale. They gave me an email to contact Brad directly to place an order. All I got in response was an email stating that domain no longer existed.

As poorly as the Ventmatic brand is managed, I'm surprised that they ever turn a profit, or are still in business. It's a shame, because they basically have a good product with consumer demand. This Brad guy apparently has no idea how to manage a business.

The rumors I heard is that the Intertaps are the new Ventmatics.. maybe a bit more do-it-yourself, but I think we can fix all of the issues with them in time.

I'd be very weary buying even a used Ventmatic because you will never get parts for it.. new ones? What is it that they say about the definition of insanity?

I'll give Kegworld until next Friday to ship out the vent-matic or I'll notify Paypal and my credit card company. Sounds like the Aussie Intermatics have their own issues as well.

Update on intertap flow control (sourced from aliexpress) and sour beer. I poured about 2 gallons of a kettle soured beer through my intertap flow control over the course of 2 weeks. Never had any sulphur or other odors. Beer pH was 3.2.

I saw the Intertap flow control faucets on ali. They're $10 cheaper then William's. Is yours the same brand, or a knockoff? I wonder about China stuff sometimes...

I believe they are legit. The packaging was the same, they have intertap engraved on the side, and the guts look the same as what others have posted.

Seems like a lot of work to fake for what I would think is a low volume item in the grand scheme of things.

Most importantly I haven't had any issues with the three kegs I have through it. Time will tell.

One more question... or maybe two...

Have you used perlicks before? The stem doesn't sit straight up when closed, more leaning back a bit, which can make them troublesome with long tap handles (I make spacers behind the tap to accommodate). Do the Intertap ones lean back as far?

Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean... A buddy has this huge Sweetwater handle and he had to put a spacer between his tap and his freezer door. I actually replaced Perlicks with these. I just checked and it looks like the angle is very slightly more upright on the Intertaps, but not by much so unfortunately I don't think you'd avoid the need for spacers.

I have not used perlicks. Here's a side pic of the two intertap faucets on my kegerator. They appear to lean back into the fridge.

The Perlicks have a longer through than the Interflow or even the old conventional Perlicks.

I asked a simple question, and look what happened! It has a life of it's own, I guess. I must say though, I've really enjoyed it, and I've learned a lot too. :mug:

Haha! Trust me, wrt Vent Matic, there's so much history and so many players you wouldn't even get stage credit :d

Cheers!

No update from Kegworld yesterday regarding the status of my Vent-Matic faucet order so I requested my order be cancelled this morning and my paypal account refunded. I ordered the Intertap from Williams.

What a shame. Vent-Matic is sort of like a thoroughbred treated like a nag: ridden into the ground without proper care or nourishment. From everything I've read, it's a good product that has terrible ownership/management. Since starting this post, my opinion of Vent-matic has taken a 180. I still think they are a good faucet, but I don't I'd buy one. :(

So my Intertap faucet from Williams came today - very nice quality. I also ordered the intertap 100mm (4") shank and return spring. But I cannot get the valve to auto shut. Seems like the spring is not putting any or enough pressure on the shuttle to push it back to the closed position. I tried installing the spring in both directions. What am I missing? I'm trying it dry, does it need to be lubed? Thanks

Well...

Make sure the "nut" that sits below the tap handle is not too tight up against the top of the faucet. If it's too tight, it makes the throw stiffer, and the spring may not be able to push back against that pressure.

Having said that, having it hooked up to a keg will provide some additional pressure to help things along. I do not, however, have either the intertap springs or their shanks, only the faucets, so I'm not best suited to help.

Thanks guys - I was concerned with loosening that knurled nut that it would cause a leak at that thread. I loosened it up and it is now closing under spring pressure. All is well in the world again...

I just ordered two to try out
If they work well I'll order the other 4 for my tower

Just an update...

I ordered 4 of these when they were back in stock. They're definitely the real thing, and work flawlessly. Only time will tell if they hold up like Perlicks.

A lot cheaper than Williams, even with shipping. Very happy right now.

I got four faucets for my birthday. For the first time ever I have 4 matching faucets. I also rigged up 2 growler fillers(I was impatient and order one, then got it as a gift too). Anyway it's just like the others I've set up but this setup requires 1/2 in tube tubing. I used a one foot section for this one. I'm now read to bottle at will.

I really like the taps. I have springs in all four and really like the feature. The shuttle in these are much smaller than the other two vent matic I have. Good quality.

I've found myself not using the growler filler faucet as much as I thought I would. I just slip the tubing that comes with it over the normal tap and it works the same.
