I've picked up a recipe on here for a Graff that I'd really like to give a try. However, the recipe is incomplete, in my opinion. Anybody think they could help me out? I've only brewed two beers so far, both extract (which I would prefer to stick with for right now). So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the original recipe:

5 Gallon Batch
Boiling Time: 60 minutes
Yeast: Safale US-05
5lbs Briess Golden Light..
.5 oz Warrior Hops
1lb Brown Sugar
11 - 12oz cans of Apple Cherry Frozen concentrate.. I used OLD ORCHARD
Us-05 Yeast

60 min hop boil,Add brown sugar at the start of the boil. add concentrate (frozen) when boil is done... Pitch at 70 degrees

Primary Ferment: 14+ days

With that much extract, concentrate, and sugar you might want to consider making a starter and with a starting gravity that large (I'm guessing 1.080ish off the top of my head) you might be looking at quite a bit more than 14 days in primary, IMO. Good luck!

I am trying to figure this one out also. I make apple graff from a recipe I got off of here and it is fantastic but it is an all grain. Only one gallon of beer and the balance is apple juice. this seems to be way more beer.

OK here is what I would do. HOWEVER if someone corrects me, assume they are correct.
First off cut the extract to 2.5 pounds and boil that in 1.5 gallons of water for 30 minutes rather than a full hour. I figure you will lose 1/2 gallon if you have a good rolling boil. Skip the warrior hops and use a milder variety. I use fuggles, add them at start of the boil.
after 30 minutes cool your wort and add it to the fermentor....mix up enough of your apple juice according to label directions to make 4 gallons. pour that and your brown sugar into the fermentor. pitch your yeast

See I don't know enough about ingredients to know if that's true or not. Looking at it (and just guessing, obviously), I figured it was fine. You seem to think this has way more beer, but doesn't 11 frozen 12oz cans of juice concentrate sound like quite a bit?? I mean, think about how much juice that would make. Each can will technically make 48oz of juice.

I'm just thinking out loud here lol
