When installing a tower on top of a chest freezer, do you just drll the holes into the lid and not worry about it, or should i go the way of installing a piece of wood like they suggest with the Sanyo fridge?

Good question. Seeing as how the metal on the top is thin and there isn't much else but insulation, I'd say that you'd want to shore it up with a block of wood.
