Hi guys/gals,

So I recently brewed a 5 gallon batch in which I only yielded 40 beers (3.75 gallons). It was an IPA that spent a little over 5 days in the primary and 15 days in the secondary where it was dry hopped with 3 ounces of pellet hops. I was not overly concerned to get all the beer out of my primary because I did not want to siphon a lot of the trube with my beer, but I tried to get all of my beer out of my secondary when transferring to my bottling bucket.

Does it seem like I lost too much beer or is that about on par with what I should expect to lose each and every batch? Any tips to improve efficiency? Thanks home-brew fam!

ipas definitely yield less than other styles due to the amount of hops in the boil (especially when using leaf hops) and also with the dry hopping that goes down. i always try and over estimate my batch size with ipas to tryn and get a full 5 gallons.
