Hi all,

Somewhat last minute I've decided to brew an imperial stout with oatmeal and coffee this upcoming week. Given the last minute decision, I've thrown together a recipe based mostly on what I have lying around. Since (imperial) stouts are not something I brew often, however, I was hoping for some feedback on my grain bill to see whether any of my percentages seem way off. Thanks for any input!

Grain bill :)
1.1% Carafa Special III
4.2% Roasted Barley (560 SRM)
5.6% Chocolate (320 SRM)
1.6% Special B
3.9% Caramunich II
4.6% Brown Malt (90 SRM)
5.9% Candi syrup or table sugar
21.0% Flaked Oats
52.0% Base malt (Pilsner/Pale mix)

(In case it matters: I'm shooting for an OG just under 1.100 and IBUs around 90)

Doesn't look bad. There are those that say you could probably trim it down a bit but I don't think I see anything wrong with this recipe. Personally I'd go with table sugar because in a beer like this you're never gonna notice the fancy stuff.

Thanks a ton for the feedback. I had some cheapo syrup lying around that I opted to give a shot (I've been curious for a while whether it'd add anything beyond table sugar). It's in the fermenter now and seems very promising so far!
