Im brewing a california common extract kit from tru brew.

Thought a common was a bit on the light side. This crystal malt is bark as chocolate. Is it suppose to lighten later

Extract is always a few shades darker than the equivilant grain. Extract also gets darker with age, so you may have gotten an older batch.
