i came across the the forum through google ( imagine that) after realizing that i must bring my love for beer to the next level..... brewing it myself of course....

i like pale ales and IPAs but i am not picky to be completely honest when i go out to eat or drink i always like to try something new ...... i enjoy a lighter golden ale for the summer of course cause some days here in NC are just too hot to drink a heavy beer.....

the local brew festival is coming up and i cant wait to try new beers!

I'd recommend checking out www.howtobrew.com if you haven't already.

As for recipes, I would strongly suggest starting out with a basic pale ale kit. There are several good online resources for ordering supplies, I'd recommend www.northernbrewer.com or www.austinhomebrew.com.

Pick any pale ale extract kit and you should be off and running. My only caution (as it came up once before) is to note that the hops are not usually premeasured; instead, they come in standard 1oz bags.
