Hello All!

Just a quick introductory word or two...found this great forum and must say I'm impressed! I have brewed beer and mead on and off for a few years now, have had excellent results and a few disasters but I guess this is all part of learning.
My main focus for the next couple of months will be mead as I came into a large quantity of honey and what better use for the stuff!
I am getting ready to rack my ginger mead off of the primary fermenter, and was wondering about topping it off. What are the dangers, and is this a common practise? Can this procedure kill a good mead? Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
