How does one make a clickable link with a different name? I know how to do this

www.homebrewtalk.com

But how do you make it so you can click on the word here or whatever word you want for the same link?

When you insert the link there is a part of the text that is highlighted in the text editor window. That text segment is what is seen in the post.

Its easier. Just create a link and when you click OK the text that will appear in the post will be highlighted ready to be over-written.

Props to Alehole, I have long wanted to know how to do this.

Oh and Props to Yuri and Magno, Thanks fellas.

I am very computer illeterate. Sorry for being such a noob but what is an editor?

nevermind I can't figure it out but thanks for responding.

Post the link like you normally would, copy and paste is how I do it. Then left click and drag over your link to highlight it. Once highlighted, retype what you want to say, any spaces have to be underscored_like this, as the new type will be underlined.

That was the easiest way for me to do it and I'm also very 'puter illiterate.

Click the "Go Advanced" box below the Quick Reply.
Type & highlight the words you want to be the clickable link.
Open the link icon (world with chain).
Type in the URL for the link.
Click OK.
Done.

Here's how I do it, very easy.

Find the url that will be the link and get it in the buffer by using copy or ctrl-c.
This could also be typed directly later, but I usually can't remember exactly so I copy/paste.
Start with the 'go advanced' editor.
Type the word I want to be a link.
Highlight that word (or group of words) with the mouse.
Click the little url link icon, which will open a window.
Paste the url link in this window (I use ctrl-v).
Viola, link!
