It seems to me that storing 50lb bags of base grains is a good idea and economical. My question is how much specialty grain should be stored in a homebrewers pantry? Obviously this will depend on what type of beers you like to brew and how often you brew. I like to brew various styles and brew a batch 1-2 times a month. I'm looking for some suggestions from experienced all grain brewers as to balancing storage volume of specialty grain with actual utilization. The reason I ask is I'm considering what size specialty grain storage containers to purchase.

I'm not sure there's a single answer here, considering how much this will vary both by grain and by brewer. Munich? I'll go through 50 pounds a year. Black malt? A pound or two would be plenty.
