I'm curious how many of us have family members (immediate, cousins, or distant relatives) that homebrew?

How many friends do you have that homebrew? You can count friends you have because of homebrewing but don't count homebrewing acquaintances.

0 family (though 2 family did it back in the 90's)
2 friends

My brother-in-law introduced me to homebrewing about 2 years ago. He had only been brewing for several months when I got my feet wet because of his first homebrew attempt! I have introduced 2 people since to homebrewing who are now brewing themselves! It spreads like a virus!

No family and I was the first out of anyone I know to pick up the hobby, but one of my good friends started shortly after so at least I have someone to talk to even though he lives ~400 miles away.

My brother (lone sibling) also homebrews and includes my nieces in the process a bit, so when they are old enough I'll have 2 more to include. I think a cousin may, but I don't have much of a relationship with anyone outside of my immediate family, so who knows.

As for friends, a good deal of them are homebrewers or have at least pitched in on brew days.

I started myself because of a love for craft beer. I just got my older brother started today!! He bought his supplies and will be brewing in no time.

I was the first one in my family to break out the buckets. Since then my brother an d bro-in-law have jumped in with both feet. I got the idea from a friend who had done a couple of extract batches but then stopped, so I picked it up and ran with it! 15+ years later he we are...

My father just started, just did his second batch,(first without my supervision).

My sister and bro in law are going through the early steps to open a brewery.

Besides that, I don't think anyone else that I'm related to. I have a handful of people I hang with after homebrew club meetings, and the occasional weekend session. My old roommates would help me when they could but never ventured so far as to brew solo.

Just me and the missus, our cattle dog likes to help.

No friends or family brew. I just talk to myself about brewing and lurk on HBT all day.

Zero of each, but hopefully i'll change that to one of each next weekend. Having my brother in law and a friend over to brew and split a couple batches. They just might catch the bug...
