I have just bought a plastic fermentor and I really wanna get rid of its strong plastic.

What shall I use or how shall I do it?

A bit of bleach overnight? Or will that damage it due to the long contact?

Are they food grade plastic? the plastic FV's I have never smelled of strong chemicals.

It is food grade polyethylene.
It slightly smells like a piece of smoked ham......this might not be the best way to describe that smell though. :)

Pour in 3TBSP of PBW & fill to within about 2-3" of the top, making sure it's well dissolved. Warm water would be even better. Just remember not to use really hot water in plastic!

even really hot tap water can damage plastic? I thought only like boiling water from a pot can.
