How accurate are Brinx meters with alcohol?

I frequently want to test my beer after the fact.

Curious how accurate/reliable are the brix meters post carbonation.

Are you talking about a Refractometer? You can use a formula to offset the alcohol but it is my understanding that hydrometers are they way to go. I have a Refractometer that I use before I pitch the yeast and after that I use a hydrometer. As far as Brix goes, it is just another scale similar to Celsius vs Fahrenheit.
 
I have a hydrometer... but its a big one... I can only use with a large sample size.

I am interested in just getting a decent ballpark range post carbonation too.

Google Refractometer calculator. Northern Brewer has one on their site.
