TBH, I prefer the newer styles in which bitterness is low relative to aroma and flavor. Not sure how clarity is affected by that other than going for the NEIPA mouthfeel.

People like what they like. If you're brewing professionally and need a beer the majority will like, then NEIPA. If you're brewing for yourself....no such constraints.
